Your questions, answered.
The admission process at Esperanza begins with an initial consultation, wherein prospective parents or guardians engage in a face-to-face interaction with our Clinical Director, a senior speech-language pathologist or an occupational therapist. This step holds significant importance as it allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the individual and address any concerns they may have. Following this consultation, a comprehensive assessment test is conducted, and a subsequent discussion is initiated based on the evaluation outcomes. On average, the assessment procedures would require three working days, and sessions can begin as soon as the assessment is completed. The assessment report will be given to the parent after two weeks. These outcomes play a pivotal role in determining the suitability of the child for enrollment in Esperanza, and subsequently, an appropriately qualified therapist is assigned to the child.
The scheduling of evaluations or therapy sessions at Esperanza depends largely on the availability and preferences of the parents or guardians. As with other therapy centers in our region, we experience a high demand for our services, particularly during the late afternoons and early evenings. However, if it is possible for parents to bring their child between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, we can often accommodate their needs more promptly. We require three working days for evaluation, after which sessions will begin.
At Esperanza, individual sessions are scheduled for a duration of one hour, usually comprising 45 minutes of therapy, ten minutes for parents to engage in discussions with the therapists and to update therapy notes, and five minutes of clean-up time before the start of the next session. While we prefer that the parent engages with the therapist during the allotted therapy slot, we understand that this might not always be possible. Parents are therefore welcome to make an appointment to meet the therapist based on their mutual availability during working hours. We request all parents to be present on time for their sessions, in order to avoid missing out on their allotted time.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to change your assigned therapist at Esperanza. We prioritize ensuring that each of our therapists undergoes comprehensive training and consistently delivers high-quality services. Once a therapist is assigned to your child, it is important to work collaboratively with them to achieve your child’s therapy goals. However, if you have concerns regarding the therapy sessions, you are encouraged to discuss them with the therapist directly, and if necessary, further discuss the concerns with our Clinical Director.
As a parent, you are encouraged to observe your child’s therapy session at Esperanza. We highly recommend your active involvement, which includes taking notes and being engaged in the process. However, please note that the use of mobile phones during the therapy session is not permitted, and it is essential to ensure that your phone is in silent mode.
We understand that parents may feel frustrated or concerned when they are unable to schedule therapy sessions immediately. To help ensure that your child is seen as promptly as possible at Esperanza, there are several actions you can take. It is important to provide us with your current contact information and promptly respond when we reach out to you with available slots. Please respond to SMS messages and confirm the appointments at the earliest. Additionally, inform us if your availability changes and you are able to accept appointments earlier in the day. All sessions are booked a week in advance. If you wish to cancel an appointment, please do so at least one day before your scheduled session.
At Esperanza, we prioritize the quality of therapy rather than the number of sessions. While we are confident in the effectiveness of our therapy programs in facilitating positive changes in your child, we understand your concerns and wish for your child to receive therapy frequently within a short period. Exceptions to the prescribed program are considered on a case-by-case basis and are at the discretion of our Clinical Director.
While we understand your concerns as a parent, it is challenging to provide a definitive answer to this question. Each child possesses unique attributes, and our therapy techniques are tailored to address their individual needs. While some children exhibit remarkable progress in a short period, others may require more time. Our dedicated efforts revolve around working closely with each child, employing various strategies to facilitate their development. However, it is important to note that we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.
At Esperanza, when assigning a therapist to a child, we adhere to a standard operating procedure that focuses on aligning the specialized skills of the therapist with the specific needs of the child. We are committed to hiring top talent, including graduates and postgraduates in Speech Language Pathology Science. Upon joining Esperanza, our therapists, regardless of their prior experience, undergo rigorous training modules designed to meet our high standards and uphold our established protocols and business practices. We also encourage our therapists to participate in ongoing training programs to keep their skills up to date.
Esperanza provides a basic progress report after every three months of therapy at no additional cost. After the assessment, before therapy begins, a lesson plan will be prepared and shared with the parent. Please note, assessment reports are valid only for six months. It is important to respect that certain therapy techniques implemented by Esperanza are protected under intellectual property rights. We kindly request that you refrain from sharing our techniques and practices with other therapy centers. If there is a genuine need to share information, we encourage other therapy centers to directly contact us for proper guidelines.
We prefer conducting sessions at our center. However, if there is a genuine requirement, we would be happy to arrange a session at your home. If a school visit is required for counseling purposes, we are willing to consider it. These requests must be made to the Clinical Director. Please note that additional charges apply for home and school visits.
The fees and session duration at Esperanza are determined based on the assessment outcomes, goals, and the individual communication needs of the child, as well as the expectations set by the family. For specific details regarding the cost and duration of the sessions, please contact us.
