Esperanza Community Programs
Where children grow, families feel confident, and schools embrace every learner.
At Esperanza, we believe that therapy does not end when a session does. Our three community programmes extend our clinical work into the spaces that matter most, your home, your child’s school, and the broader Dubai community. Each pillar is free or subsidised, because access to support should never depend on a family’s budget.

Pillar 1: FIRST STEPS — Free Consultation
Guidance for families at the start of the journey
Starting your child’s developmental journey can feel overwhelming. You may have questions that nobody has answered clearly yet about what the signs mean, what to do next, and whether you need therapy at all. FIRST STEPS is a free, 60-minute consultation designed to give you exactly that clarity.
What happens in your free FIRST STEPS session:
- A personalised conversation about your child’s speech, social, and developmental needs
- Observation of your child in a relaxed, play-based setting
- Clear, jargon-free explanations of what we observe and what it might mean
- Evidence-based recommendations for therapy, support, or monitoring
- Connection to community resources and next steps whether with us or elsewhere
Why families choose to start here:
- Warm, experienced professionals who truly listen no rush, no pressure
- Tailored insights for your child, not a generic checklist
- A calm, welcoming environment where children feel safe from the moment they arrive
- You leave with a written summary and a clear path forward
FIRST STEPS is completely free. There is no obligation to book ongoing therapy with us. We offer it because every family deserves clarity.

Pillar 2: CONNECT — Social Skills Programme
Building meaningful relationships, one connection at a time
For many children especially those with autism, ADHD, or social communication differences — the hardest part of childhood is not academic. It is social. Knowing how to read a room, make a friend, or recover from a misunderstanding. The CONNECT Programme is designed to build exactly those skills, in a structured, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable way.
CONNECT guides children through a four-step developmental process grounded in Social Thinking® frameworks:
- Social Awareness Noticing and recognising social signals, emotions, and the presence of others.
- Social Understanding Moving beyond surface behaviour to consider other perspectives and intentions.
- Social Decision-Making Practising thoughtful choices in real social situations — not scripted responses.
- Social Reactions Adjusting responses in the moment to strengthen connections and navigate challenges.
We deliberately move away from behavioural drilling. Children in CONNECT are not memorising scripts — they are developing genuine social intelligence that travels with them into school, the playground, and everyday life.
How children join CONNECT:
Every child begins with a FIRST STEPS consultation. This ensures that the CONNECT pathway is the right fit, and that their programme within it is tailored to their specific social profile and goals. No two children follow exactly the same route through CONNECT.

Pillar 3: EDGE — School Support Initiative
Equipping educators to support every learner — free for schools
Most children spend more waking hours at school than anywhere else. Yet many teachers and school staff have never received practical training in how to support children with developmental differences in the classroom. EDGE exists to change that.
EDGE (Excellence in Development, Growth, and Education) is a free programme for schools, because we believe that knowledge should reach the adults who are with children every day. When teachers are equipped, every child benefits.
What EDGE provides to schools:
- Free early identification screenings — helping schools spot children who may benefit from support before challenges escalate
- Free Educator training — evidence-based strategies for creating genuinely inclusive classrooms, not just policy compliance
- Free Parent engagement workshops — bridging the gap between school strategies and home, so learning is consistent
- Social skills programmes — delivered in school to foster confidence and positive peer relationships
- Ongoing consultation — accessible support for school administrators, SENCOs, and leadership teams
EDGE is offered free to schools because we know that teachers and caregivers are the most powerful force in a child's development and they deserve the knowledge to match that responsibility.
Our goal:
To help schools build learning environments where every child has an individualised plan, consistent progress tracking, and the confidence to show up fully not just academically, but socially and emotionally.
Bring EDGE to your school — at no cost.
